After graduating with a BFA in Visual Communications and minor in Sociology, I spent over three years working in the publication and mass media industries as both a designer and coordinator. As much as I enjoyed this experience and the industry as a whole, I couldn't pass up an opportunity that arose to combine my passion for design and travel: teaching high schoolers abroad in Thailand. I spent a year as a Technology & Occupations instructor in Phuket, immersing my students in various projects, ranging from pen pal video production to creating our own businesses online (with a full website design!). As much as my students enjoyed these interface design projects, I might have enjoyed them even more.
Upon my return to the US, I dove head first into the tech industry, taking a position as a Content Specialist at Favor, and eventually moving up to Content Lead. Most recently I have taken on the role of CRM Coordinator. Throughout the past three and a half years, I've helped manage the in-app Favor content across more than 40 cities, including photography, menus, market launches and overall content strategy. In addition to these responsibilities,  I oversaw and led a team of six Content Quality Associates. Together, we've successfully launched in multiple markets with 70%+ menu/restaurant coverage. In the Spring of 2017, I applied and was chosen to begin an internal internship with our small, but mighty, UX team. Through this opportunity, I was able to plan and run an in-depth usability study, testing some exciting upcoming new features in the Favor app. I currently work within our Marketing team to communicate directly with our consumers through email, push, in app messaging and other digital means.
In the Fall of 2017, I enrolled in Springboard’s UX Research & Design workshop. Under the mentorship of a UX professional, I took an idea from conception to clickable prototype, creating deliverables like personas, sitemaps, user stories, wireframes, surveys and user flows.
When not in the office problem-solving, you might find me checking out the Austin foodie scene, exploring a new hiking spot, or hanging out with my dog. Email me at to start a conversation!
